Well,i started this thread about the Mich M100X on 9th June. Its now 27th July & im fitting another rear tomorrow! Ive gone for another Macadam 100X as the front one is wearing well & i want to match it up,but at this rate,i'll get through 3 rears to one front . Its a shame . The tyre is such a nice feeling tyre on the Rex and it has worn nice & evenly right across the tread & not squared off at all . Im hoping to try the Avon AV45/46ST when the Mich have worn out

This Macadam100X beastie must be a Europe/UK only item. Never heard of it before - but then with a name like "Macadam", I should have known.

The Michelin Macadam M90X & M100X have been the main sports/touring tyre in the Michelin range for about the last 5 or 6 years. The were standard equipment on a lot of fast heavy bikes such as the Honda Blackbird. Theyre now being phased out as the Pilot Road takes over.Thats why theres deals to be had on them...

Thanks, I'd wondered why the sudden rash of posts about this tire.

...and another reason why theres been a few posts about this tyre is because so many people talk so much CRAP about tyres without even trying them. Its always been drilled into peoples heads(ZRX owners) that the Bridgestone BT020 is the ONLY tyre to put on the ZRX. They also say that the M100X is a "rubbish" tyre. I beg to differ. I find that the Michelin Mac M100X is a fantastic tyre on the ZRX...in fact its much better than the BT020...which i have also tried. In fact, ive tried about 6 or 7 different tyres on the ZRX & ive gotta say the M100X is the best. "They" also say that "Avons are crap". Thats the tyre im gonna try next...the Avon AV45/46ST...the best tyre ive ever tried on a road bike(well,on my Blackbird anyway)and i cant wait to see what its like on the ZRX. Yeah,im a bit of a rebel. . . BUT,at least when i say a tyre is crap,or good on the ZRX...at least ive actually TRIED it and assessed it,so i know what im talking about before i make a judgement on them...

I'd never tried 020s on that old Gpz either so had nothing to directly compare them with. Brainwashing ensured that I never got to try them on Rex Thanks to our rebel, Snoopy, I'm now having more fun on Rex than I've ever had. :ten:

Looking forward to reading your report then. It'll be interesting to see how they compare to the Macadam 100X

So whats the latest update on the Michelins Grem...? How are they wearing? Still working well? How many miles?

The good news is that they're not wearing. ............... .............this is because for one reason or another Rex has hardly been ridden this summer. All told I've covered about 1500 miles on these tyres and still say that these tyres are a vast improvement over the Bridgestones, particularly in the wet. Whereas the 020s always felt twitchy and nervous the M100s are truly planted, inspiring greater confidence and allowing higher speeds and lean angles. (not that I'm about to start pushing my luck) My only regret is that I ddn't follow my instinct and try these ages ago after their success on the GPz1100.
