sounds like the floats aint shutting off properly, any smell of petrol or stains on the floor Les have you been up our drive today?? if you have you would have seen petrol stains on the floor too. Had exactly the same problem on my 1100 today ZRXglen. We recently had the carbs out and stripped them, so to get a sticky float was a bummer, but we solved it in about 30mins without having to take the tank off. Mine was starting but on 2 or 3, then after 10secs a pool of fuel was on the floor Did lead to some interesting cracking out of the can though Solved by... Taking the vacuum cable off (plug it) behind the fuel tap and then running the bike out of fuel, I actually went for a ride to speed up the process during which it fired on all 4 until it runs out. This lowers the floats. Then with the engine dead we turned the fuel back on 'prime' and ran it with the vacuum still plugged. I went for another run around the houses and it ran fine. Come home, put the fuel tap onto 'on' with the engine still running and rehoused the vacuum pipe onto the fuel tap. Was as good as gold after that. Lucky really so it meant I didn't have to take the tank and carbs off again. Although it was only 0'c today, the time it took to run the carbs right out lead to the fan coming on, so it takes a while. We also released some fuel from the bottom of the carbs by undoing those tiny little allen bolts, just helped speed things up. Fingers crossed...

Yup, exactly that. We had the whole front garden filled with smoke. Once it was sorted it was all back to normal, smokewise

WILL THE CARBS FLOODING MAKE LOTS OF WHITE SMOKE COME OUT OF THE EXHAUST no need to shout, auto ignition point of petrol is around 290 deg C, without a spark or a really hot exhaust it wont ignite and produces a white smoke/gas as it heats up.

In my experience, oil tends to create a blueish smoke. If it is white it still sounds like fuel.

I'm wondering if a load of fuel has run down into the sump and has mixed with the oil. Has the oil level gone above the normal max. mark? I'd be inclined to dump the sump oil and refill with fresh. Agree that it still sounds like fuel rather than oil burning

Long shot but had this on a car once. It was a tiny crack in the cylinder head. Water got into the cylinder and had white smoke when cold but as the head heated up and expanded, the crack closed up
