Hi guys, been a while since I've been here. My clutch is pretty much dead, only takes up the drive at the last bit of the clutch lever, almost non existent.
I've got brand new engine case, sight glass, gasket, heavy duty EBC clutch and heavy duty EBC springs.
What I haven't got is a clue on fitting it together. I can guess most of it, but not the springs torque settings. Some guys at work say to tighten them fully, others say fully then slacken them off. These are the guys who said to fit the sight glass into the engine case I need a hammer, 30mm socket and some K bond.
Main dealer said just push it in. So you can why I'm dubious with the advice I've been given at work.

Clutch and springs all fitted. Took around an hour from start to finish and the difference is amazing. Now the bite is taken up pretty much as soon as I start to release the clutch and not after I've let the clutch lever go.
1 question though........ The first and last plate I removed were completely different to the rest. These had large almost square cork slices fitted, while the others had smaller rectangle slices.
The new plates were all squares.
Any ideas why or is it possible that the previous owner has tampered and replaced only some plates??

PO might have done clutch work, or had it done at some point in time. Different manufacturers have different technical approaches. Depending on what they actually are, that may be what happened.
Be aware that the stock clutch had two brown cork friction plates that were to be installed in the innermost and outermost positions in the clutch pack (pg 5-14 of the manual).
