Hi love my rex and want to garner info from other likeminded. Just got back from Valencia and wanting your thoughts on tyres (using Avons at the mo and liking massively over bridgestones) and really need to replace original exhaust downpipes, Akropovic expensive and where does the extra 18 horses appear at the top to the detriment of the low down? I like the low down grunt, why I bought the bike, or sandys any good or would I be better spending on acropovic system, all the others seem to be self import hallo big shipping and Mr VAT am I wrong, misguided please help with you advice. Best wishes Ted

Welcome to the family I'm also in process of changing tyres. Gonna plum for michelin pilot road 2s. They write up very well for big muscle bikes and have been tested on such bikes. Visor down do a good review. They have a good distribution of dual compounds. 60 percent soft on edges on front and 80 on rear so grip good and good mileage to boot. Got maxxis on at mo and not impressed. Cold/wet grip is not great. Warm not to bad. I've just put new stainless down pipes on from sandy bike parts. They have larger diameter headers so less restrictive and give around 9 gee gee's extra. Most of wich seems to be lowdown finished off with a slash cut stubby from A16. Ah hem! It's loud!! Hope this gives you food for though.

I have a full Akra system, jet kit and pods on my Rex. The new power curve may "feel" a bit softer at the low end, but I think it is only when compared to the fairly steep increase once you hit about 5000 rpm.
Don't think it actually lost anything at the bottom, just relative to the new top end.
