Has anybody used a non oem cable and did it fit. Wemotto are doing one for £9 odds and an OEM for £18. The Q is, what to buy so m8 can fit it

A piece of string with a knot in both ends ought to do you for a choke cable in any case so I cant see what your problem is.

I do believe that between us we have stumbled upon an entirely new product. We too have a member of our little group who seems to have a bladder the size of a thimble and has to stop at least three times more often than anybody else. He once rode a Hayabusa to try and get around the problem. Every now and again while out riding in a group he'd go racing off into the distance, disappearing over the horizon with a rooster tail of dust. A few minutes later we'd be passing his bike parked by the side of the road and occasionally might see him on the other side of a hedge somewhere. Very shortly after that he'd reappear and tag himself onto the back of the group again as though nothing had happened. This process would very often be repeated again before our next scheduled stop. So, one of our (soon to be) patented "choke" cables, note the inverted commas could have been a potential life saver for him. I'm willing to bet there are groups of bikers all over the country who have the odd member with similar problems and with a bit more R&D and proper marketing we could be onto a wiener here.

I do think yer onto something there, Grem. I've got a ball of string I could ship over to start production. String's free, shipping $90.00

See, what did I tell you. You hit on a good idea and everybody wants to get involved. Thanks for the kind offer Lightspeed, I shall bear it in mind. However, allowing for exchange rates that's about £58. I'd geuss that a really good ball of string would cost about a quid so allowing for bus fare and a trip to the pub I could still come home with about 50 balls of string. AS a slight diversion: I often use ebay for price comparisons and for searching for good deals. Try searching ebay for string. Just type in the word string - nothing else and see what you get. I nearly fell off my chair. string :slobr:

Thanks Gremlin I think we could be onto a winner here with the all new "Wee Choke String" Buy the way I like to think of my little biker buddies problem as not a slack bladder, but more a case of high manifold pressure or short tank range. :mut:

At least it's not an exhaust valve or associated problem. Roadside repairs for them can be a lot more complicated.

So how long is a piece of string ? You must know ? & now it look like we are about to answer that age old conundrum !! You can give your answer in feet & inches or meters & millimetre or if you feel the need we will even take it in "hands" !!! :mut:
