Hi All,
For a few months my bike was not at all confidence inspiring, it'd push wide on the corners and although it did nothing to scare me it was giving me feedback that all was not well with the handling. On recommendation from a friend i did a google search on the age of the tyres, the front was the 15th week of '02 and the rear was i think the 16th week (but not sure) of 2006.
As a rule i change my tyres every 5 years regardless, when you muck about with classic cars you tend to hear horror stories of age old rubber letting go at 50mph. Anyway i bought two new pirelli diablo corsa 3s and after a few hundred miles of taking it easy i can honestly say the bike has now come alive. All the feedback i get is positive and progressive, it's almost like the bike's talking to me now. Before she just felt dead and gave indications that leaning over was a definite no no.
Finally did an oil and filter change, put silkoline 10/40w in and although i haven't taken her out yet with the new oil she sounds a 1000% better on the short drive from the (now oil stained) patio to the garage..
I've had no reply from the dealership who sold me the bike. i think i might just take this one on the chin, it infuriates me that there's still motorcycle dealerships out there who lie. I guess we'll never rid the automotive world of the dishonest.
Hope alls well with you guys,
Rob.
