Hi can any one help i found a coolant leak on the header pipe at the front of the engine,i removed it and fitted new o rings.I filled the system with coolant and tested till the cooling fan came on.A few days later i went for a ride when i pulled up and stopped the engine.Steam and coolant sprayed out of the header pipe, any advice would be great, thanks.

sprayed out of the header pipe Actually out of the pipe itself or from where it fits onto the block? What I'm trying to say is, is it the pipe or the seals. I believe these pipes corrode if the wrong anti-freeze is used and then they are fubar'd Also getting new seals to fit perfectly is not easy. let me add that I've not experienced this myself, but have read about it elsewhere

Hi it s leaking from the o ring seals which go in to the engine block,i dont no if its the new seals which have failed or another problam in the cooling system,ie rad cap, thermostat, cylinderhead gasket failed. Thanks for replying,Richard.

Did you use a lubricant on the seals when you re-fitted the coolant bar?

You're going to have to take it off again anyway so hopefully it will just be a misplaced O-ring. Ideally when re-fitting use red rubber grease but I just used vaseline and it was ok. Also make sure that the bar is pushed squarely in by evenly tightening the two bolts a bit at a time.

had the very same problem myself, just fit the pipe carefully, pain in the arse mind you. And i also replaced the the thermostat, thermostat cap and the cap on the header tank, this cured the the coolant pissin out the tank, good luck with it
