Im shocked that Les rates the Conti Road Attack tyres so highly
I had them on my Speed Four, and were excellent in the dry, but show the tyres a black cloud and thy were scary, so much so that I scrapped them and got Bridgestone 021s fitted
also if you do go for Conti Road Attack, double check the tread pattern with the side wall arrows, there are a LOT of seconds out there with the tread pattern and wall side arrows facing opposite directions

its not just me that rates them, however, I will say, Ive always reconed tyres are like a lot of things a personnal choise, what works for some, dont work for others,
for instance, I ride a 'S', slightly heavier front end, Im nearly 16 stone and five foot nothing, loads of weight in the centre and nearly always end up with a pillion, extra weight on the back.
there is also the pyscological side, Im comfortable with the road attacks, therefore I tend to be braver on them, (if you know what I mean), having read and talked to burchy about the amount of slides he gets with the maxxis tyres, it would be a constant worry to me, if I fitted them.
and spookily so did I this time around, and mainly because my tyre man had a job lot at an excellent price.

To put this sliding into context, Yes I did talk about it last Sunday, but to be fair, there was black ice and frost on the road in places. Yes I can get the rear to spin up on the 9, but that is quite deliberate In the ordinary course of events the Maxxis tyres are every bit as good at 021's and, I reckon better when pushing on a bit through the twisties
