After a wet weekend at Donnington Park I have rode back home on the wettest ride i can remember. I only live about 1.5 hours away but am stil feeling the cold. As this was the first very very wet ride I have done I can only say I was impressed. I bought the SREX in February and it has mostly been cold, not wet when I have ridden it. The handling in the wet was excellent, the only mod I ahve on the S is Oxford heated grips and they probably helped me from catching a major cold. Unfortunately my 9 yr old son was very cold on the back. Only one slight twitch on the way back, but that was due to a dodgy bit of road repair work, I should be surprised living in Loncolnshire, roads are poorly maintianed. Well it s the car for me this morning as my gear is still drying out (told you it was wet). Heres many more great weekends out on the SREX rain or shine. It was our first BSB as well so a great weekend was had by all ;D ;D ;D

Bernard, I certainbly can't complain and apart from the heated grips (life saver for me) it is standard. Best choice I have made apart form passing my test. Strange that my good lady spotted the SREX and once test rode I new it was going to be mine

I should have bought a Jetski and not the SREX. I've covered more wet miles on this bike than probably all of my previous ones put together, at least that's how it always seems at the time. :storm: Although never feeling 100% planted in the wet and what bike really does, I speak from experience when I say that the Rex is at least predictable. If you do happen to push your luck and "overcook" it a bit, you'll just get a little warning twitch from the rear. If you do properly overcook it, then the rear will step out although not alarmingly and this is easily controlled from your upright riding position and wide bars. I still don't recommend you experiment with this though but it is comforting to keep in mind. A previous bike really did feel planted, both in the wet and the dry which to me was a little bit more scary as I always got the impression it would just suddenly let go big style with no second chances. That's what makes the Rex so much more User Friendly

Grem thanks for the tip I did have the back end get twitchy yesterday but at sucha low speed it can only be down to the poor repairs as usual from South Kesteven District Council. Their repairs just crumble away at the first sight of rain. It looks like a war zone around here after a heavy down pour. My poor son was getting very wet and cold but like everyone has said it is part of the memory which will last. Role on the warmer weather and I think I will grab an intercom so I can make sure he is still holding on when the going gets good. Next ride for me will be about 90 miles to Cambridge for a one day training course on Thursday. No matter what the weather ;D
