Ive just been offered a few CBX550F's for £50! My mate bought them a while ago, intending building up 1 or more of them. He thinks theres about 6 complete dismantled bikes there. Do i do a few trips in my Volvo Estate & pick it all up,or is it all too much trouble for what isnt a great bike, even when done. . . I never seem to find the time or money to get the REX finished. Am i just biting off more. . .

I'm in much the same boat here, as in trying to find the time and resources to look after 2 bikes and restore a third. Never mind going to work and running a website. On the other hand, it may not be a great bike but would make a great little runaround, saving Blackbird and Rex from the winter weather. For £50 it sounds like a bargain. I'd definately be tempted. You never know, you might even be able to make two and sell one of them and you certainly shouldn't be left out of pocket by the time you ebay whats left.

Hmmm. I think it would be a bit different if it was a model i at least had some interest in. I suppose i could put 1 motor in the lawnmower, another in the Hoover, build up a twin engined bike & still have two left over for spares. . .

This was my first big bike when I passed my test, I liked it................till it was nicked and trashed, broke my heart. Then again I remember the front brake was always a problem on those bikes, especially mine) Whatever floats ya boat but it would be interesting to see one built back up and for 50 quid its gotta be worth it.
