When do points on your licence come off...speeding in particular...oh...and driving without due care... It it timed from the date of the offence,or is it the date that they put the points on your licence??? Taken from a driving forum that Ive found very informative --- Endorsements must remain on a licence for 11 years from date of conviction if the offence is : * drinking/drugs and driving (shown on the licence as DR10, DR20, DR30 and DR80). * causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink/drugs (shown on the licence as CD40,CD50 and CD60). * causing death by careless driving, then failing to provide a specimen for analysis (shown on the licence as CD70). or 4 years from date of conviction if the offence is as listed below : *reckless/dangerous driving (shown on the licence as DD40,DD60 and DD80), *offences resulting in disqualification. *disqualified from holding a full licence until a driving test has been passed. or 4 years from the date of offence in all other cases. In all the above the points only remain valid for "totting up" purposes for 3 years. For further info, have a look at this thread on traffic answers forum HTH

We haven't got a "fingers crossed" emoticon but It looks as though you're in the clear. Best say nothing else, that'd be tempting fate.

You'll probably find the plod will still try it on after months. The old if you don't plead guilty as charged you could face court and get hung, drawn & quartered just for not having 4 wheels and a mobile. Too many, me included have just signed the form in the past. How the hell I managed to do over 30 on Anglesey I will never know ( car not bike) but like an I just accepted the piints but they didn't make any prizes. I certianly know better now
