REX started ok this morning. However when riding to the station there is a distinct chugging noise, there seems to be a drop in power and then it picks up again. I am wondering if this could be water related after the down pour last night while I was riding home? Any help/ suggestions/ general abuse is gratefully accepted.

Sounds like Rex is not working on all cylinders, ... 1. check plugs for wetness, ie not firing (replace) 2. check air filter, might be a little clogged up after winter riding. (replace) 3. check HT leads for Sparking, (tho never know this on modern ones). 4. buy a honda, their perfect (nearly) 5. disregard #4

sounds like its missing to me as well although Its not usual for these to be affected by water enough rain will get through eventually. If its ok tonight when you get back to it (providing it aint rained all day) then that will be the problem, if not follow all badgers advice,

Missing a spark is what I thought. I might order a Hindo later. Are the spark plugs the same as the REX? As I might just swipe some from the Hinda I test ride. you got to be kidding, I just spent more than £1 on a service so ain't changing wheels for at least 100 years or my life would be toast

Can't believe you lot have not correctly diagnosed the fault yet.... It's obviously the Rex adapting to the weight transfer from WARDOURDRIVE'S wallet as it copes with the undulations in the tarmac thorofayre...... Just carry less wonga

Just carry less wonga Surely having massive wonga would cause issues with the stock suspension and call for a massive extraction of said wonga on some USD forks and Ohlins, rapidly followed by me moving into the garage to live cus the wife would be throwing me out

All fixed now. Plug No 1 was swimming in water. Syringed out the water. Dryed everything, removed plug, dryed that, refitted and all fired up ok. ;D

if a cylinder isn't firing properly that pipe will be relatively cooler. you can avoid burning your hands by spraying a little water on the pipes & observing the steam. RULE OF THUMB 1 cool pipe=plug, cap or wire 1+4 or 2+3 cool=coil all cool=pickup coil or igniter or not ----don't want to get into fuel right now.
