Has anyone had a problem with the seat locks on a ZRX 1200. I cannot get my seat off and wondered if anyone had any ideas what to try. I need to get to the battery to start the bike as it has been stood for a while. This is really bugging me.

Hi there......sounds like you either have a prob with the Lock (does the Key turn ok..?) or the cable might be seized...or the lock itself is seized...
Just going to nip down and have a look at mine to see if i can get at it from the seat back.......................

This is taken with the seat off, and i can only thnk you may have to get at the cable from the bottom going up from behind the rear foot test, with a long screw driver and pushing the cable tag away towards the front of the bike. and resease the lock that way...the locking latch itself is prity well tooked away to get at it.

Gangway, coming through, expert seat unlocker, been there got the t-shirt. They dont call me the offical plonker for nothing.
However, I am not that stupid that I am gonna tell all and sundry how easy it is to remove seat without the key.
So I will send you a PM on how to do it.

Cheers. Will try that. It sounds like something is moving under the seat when the key turns but it isnt releasing the catch.

So, do we all keep all our worldly goods under the seat then?
A bit of wire with a hook on the end will do.
Brakeline had a cunning plan a while back, but, as I have the memory of a fish can't quite remember what it was, Something like undoing the rear mudguard bolts from underneath or something.

So, do we all keep all our worldly goods under the seat then? . not everything, just a spare pair of gloves, me lock and chain and a pair of waterproof trs. just enough so if they did get nicked Id be pissed off. oh and the bike alarm and tool kit.
