engine gets a vit hot when riding in 30 odd deg temps, fan on all the time in slow movin traffic, thinkin I should use fully sythn. oil. any other suggestions to keep the ole Rex cooler in these hot temps.

Dont think changing Oil will make any differance to the running temp, (ask Floog, he is the Oil man). I have that problem here in London in the summer, the fan is on nearly all the time. never get any speed up to cool it down.

Change out the antifreeze coolant to something like Water Wetter during the summer. Used in race bikes and tends to be more efficient in heat transfer and the engine runs cooler.
No antifreeze protection whatsoever, so ya gotta change it out again when it starts to cool down outside.

will try water wetter if I can find it here, bike shops on the coast not up to much, like no spares, for the rex, never seen one doh

No need to modify it. The standard cooling system is well up to the job. That is what the fan is for.
