I know this has probably been covered before, but..
Seeing as the wheels are off the bike for new tyres to be fitted, I thought it an ideal time to replace the brake pads.
What type to you guys recomend and where from?
Cheers.

When I got my Rex I was not overly impressed with the front or rear brakes, nor the annoying squeal I got every time I applied them I stripped down the calipers and cleaned them and noted the original Kwak pads had glazed on the rears I bought EBC HH SINTERED 'C' COMPOUND PADS FRONT (FA188HH) & REAR, (FA161HH) which I've used on my last few bikes with superb results I copper greased the pins, and the backs of the pads and once reassembled and bedded in, I could really feel the difference. No squeal, superb stopping power (just mention 'Halfords' to MICHAELZRX and he'll agree ) Total cost was about £58 all in including P&P from brakes4u.co.uk. Took just a couple of days to arrive EBC highly rated by this rexer

A few more bits & bobs going on as well while i'm at it. 44 tooth Renthal sprocket has seen better days now so trying a supersprox one this time.

A good move pho. The Supersprox, although slightly heavier than the Renthall is still a helluva lot lighter than the OE item and IMO looks a lot neater too. I trust you'll be changing the chain and front sprocket at the same time.

I know I should, but reached my spends budget for now.
Maybe next month.

I know I should, but reached my spends budget for now. Maybe next month. I think a lot of us are all too familiar with that problem. In fairness the alloy Renthall sprocket is prone to wear out before the chain anyway and the Supersprox has the added advantage of hardened teeth, which even the OE one hasn't. Your new sprocket shouldn't come to amy immediate harm in the short term, particularly at this time of year when I'd guess you're using the bike less and not going so fast.

That was my rekoning.
Hardly used it at all this year. Moving house and stuff has taken quite a chunk out of my spare time.
Worth it tho, Rex is just having a rest for a while.
