After a flight out today to Skegness on a charity bike run I noticed a threaded hole on the top of the left hand side of the engine. You all know I have littel mechanical knowledge so can anyone tell me what is missing. I have not had any drop in performance nor any strange noises

Nothing goes in there, if it does I've lost something as well

Do you mean the one in the lower casing behind the fuel pipe. If you do I don´t think anythings miising, it´s just the end of the hole. The bolt goes up from underneath.

If its the hole between the two pipes in the top left of the pic don't worry about it wardourdrive just had a look at mine got the same thing. think you will find theres a bolt going in from underneath holding crankcases together.

oh my god, thats the bolt thats holds the guzunder valve to the guzover flange. If its missing it makes your bike worthless and therefore in the intrests of forum generosity I will buy any bikes with this bolt missing for scrap value (approx 35 pounds uk stirling). why I feel so generous but hey . or in could be a spare bolt hole ready to confuse you into thinking something is missing on a major rebuild.

And here I was expecting something really interesting, like a rod through the block or sumpin' All I find is that he finally scraped off enough road grim to notice the threads in that hole. So nice to have periods of relative dryness over here, don't have to wash nearly as often. As folks have pointed out - doesn't need fixing

TRUCKER.....you should be ashamed of yerself Trying to con people into thinking it's the Guzunder valve and guzover flange locating hole.....that's below the belt When it's obviously the Reciprocal alabaster joint with ball and socket functioning and digital quartz timing plate holder..... Any fool would know that If you can see a threaded hole, you are in deep doggy doo doo!! Your engine is about to seize upcompletely.... The only course of action is to strip away any superflous items like belley pans, fancy renthal bars, engine bars, wavy discs etc and ship them over to me quickly. The loss in weight might just save yer bikes from exploding....only might

Minime has :ban: me from shipping out the REX with a hole as he tells me it is supposed to be there. These 9 year old mechanics are great. Mind you he charged me £90 and hour or part there of for the work and all he did was supervise me doing it. You'll just have to paint some bananas black and fit them instead.

WARDOURDRIVE, and everyone else...I feel it my duty to warn you of another possible serious problem with bits falling off Immediately go outside and check on R models on the bottom left of the radiator silver shrowd (as you ride) If you have a similar threaded bolt hole there.......then you've got more problems than Michael Jackson's lawyers awaiting payment This area is the location for the Kawasaki Orificial Cognative Kap (C.O.C.K), which emits an ultra violet wave and tries to calm down lustful admiration for the bike from passers by. Quickly go and check yer steed now .....if it's fallen off and the threaded hole is there.......you and your bike will basically have no protection and you will be destined to a life of being lusted after by the opposite sex, have people want to talk about your bike at every opportunity and heads will be drawn to you no matter where you are ridng......You will be seen as ultra cool, sexy and hot in equal measures...... My C.O.C.K was missing........and I don't ever intend replacing it......
