i have a low vibration or grinding feel and low sound after i let out the clutch, when i'm in first gear there is a grinding only when i start rolling,it's not constant,i'f i pull in the clutch lever and just coast it goes away,as soon as i let out the lever it comes back, now it's in all gears ,a womp womp womp, i checked the chain for kinks and the rear essentric is the same on both side of the swingarm. i took the clutch plates out and the look fine. if i'm rolling along and pull in the lever the grind goes away,as soon as i let out te clutch it's back agian,i can feel it mostly in the left footpeg. any ideas, thanks mike

Evenin ccsracer216 and welcome to :uk:
That definately sounds like a clutch problem if it goes away with the clutch disengaged.
You say the clutch plates are OK, what about the clutch basket that they sit in? Any damage to that could cause similar symptoms.
It's be unlikely to be a gearbox problem (I hope) as these are known to be pretty strong in normal use.

Just a thought.
Are you 100% sure it really isn't the chain??
I had exactly the same symptoms ages ago, womp womp womp noise, vibrations through footpegs AND the seat.
I did at one time have my eccentrics skewed to align the front and rear wheels and this misaligned the chain/sprockets. this resulted in the chain stretching on one side only.
Odd thing was that the noise stopped with clutch disengaged. I now put this down to the final drive not being under load of any sort.
Difficult to examine the chain for this kind of damage. It wasn't until it was removed from the bike and laid flat on the bench that it became obvious. it was curved instead of straight as it should have been.

Id also say chain...they sometimes stretch in certain spots making them go tight & slack & it makes a noise like you describe. Put the bike on a paddock stand, start it up & run the back wheel up in 2nd gear & watch the chain. You can see what its doing & if its going slack & tight... If you do decide to go for a new chain, dont forget to replace the sprockets too...

i agree chaps, ive changed my chain 2 months ago( minus the new sprockets ) with exactly the same symptoms- those eccentrics only have to be out a knats bollock and it creates all sorts of noises...........

ok i got the front sprocket and the gold chain,i'm just waiting for the rear sprocket, should be in wed. i changed my oil (put in mobil one synthetic and fram filter) and the grinding went away, smooth shifting great feel,no vibrations, for about an hour and a half, then it came back. it's the sme as before. grinding when i let out the clutch, stops when i pull in the lever. i can't remember when it started tonite.i didn't notice. it might have started after i pulled a wheelie,i don't know. i'm puttin on the new change and sprocket and i guess i'll go from there

If youve been getting the front end up it sounds like a clucth issue , as grem mentioned, maybe you should check clutch basket , i personally would do it sooner rather than later
