Several of us have different types of rack and probably all rate them highly. Speaking personally, I liked the look of the genuine KAWASAKI rack and pannier mounts....and went for those... *** the photo below shows how the bike looks when no panniers/top box are required. Just the rack. The panniers themselves fit in 5 seconds and come off simply by inserting the key and pressing a button...so simple**** Top quality, specifically made for the bike by Mama Kwack and took a dickhead numpty like me, 15 minutes to fit....simply lob out the grab handles via 4 bolts and the rack slots back in Available easily from any Kawasaki dealer for £130.09. My friendly Honda dealer got mine for me in 3 days Once on, if you want a topbox, you'll need to buy a GIVI/Kappa universal mounting plate to suit preferably the Monokey range of boxes. The plate costs £25 or so. You can go back to standard spec in 15 mins, and I am delighted with the rack...can't say fairer than that ;D

deano Soft luggage is an alternative to the more traditional top-box and side cases arrangement. If you don't want luggage stuck on your Rex permanently then the >> Ventura Bike Pack system<< is a viable alternative. I've been using this for the last 4 years now and have no complaints with it. Easy to fit and just as easily removed or altered when not required. Add some throwover panniers and you have a complete luggage system without compromising the looks of your Rex, the whole lot being removable in seconds. Just a thought.

I use soft side bags and a tankbag for my trips, but then I'm not travelling with the kitchen sink (or whatever it is that comes with the "upscale" BMWs that some round here are enamoured with). Holds everything I need/use, and no permanent alteration to that marvellous REX profile and look.

I've got one of the Kwak OE racks fitted on my REX (without the side mount bits). IMHO they're much more solid than say a Renntec. When I went to the TT I just used soft luggage (Oxford Sports) and found the rack kept the luggage off the tail section, more than if you'd just bunged the straps over the seat.(and proved very useful when it came to finding somewhere to attach the bungees to) I used a Oxford hump back jobbie on the rear section, and found it so useful for keeping me fags/keys/camera etc in that I've kept it on since I got back. Highly recommended..
