Firstly appologies if this has already been mentioned....I remember a post about it, I think on the ZRXOC...... I removed my seat today, to clean the battery tray with cotton buds and petroleum jelly .....It felt a bit weird and as I pulled it away, the seat latch cable jumped out from it's locating lugs completely... Don't know how or why, but it could have been a bit fiddly to sort out on the road etc :hair: I remember someone making an excellent suggestion of using simple cable ties to prevent such a problem ....I had read and digested the idea....then completely forgotton about it I promptly dug out two cheap cable ties for good measure and did the above fix. The cable as standard seems to have a fair amount of slack, which perhaps caused my problem today. Now it is nicely held in place and can't jump out :win: Whoever did the original tech advice, Many thanks. It might never have affected you....it might never affect you......but for a few pence my mind is at rest.... Back to the cotton buds, I just saw a speck of dust......

just an idea..... , how about takin the cable out and twisting it around the other way- it has worked for me on my 750! That screw head looks a bit battered mate- have the magpies been at it?? ......And sharp ends on those cable ties- tut tut safety first...... wouldnt like to catch my hand on them on a cold day....

Despite the fact that a. It is an R model b. It is green c. He is totally convinced that this site is for S riders only I duly gave him that advice. I just hope he returns my crowbar soonest.

That was me after brakeline became the first victim of getting his seat stuck. I noticed at the time just how easily that cable end could be moved out of its housing, especially if fiddling about in the toolbox area. The cable tie was only meant to be a temporary solution.
