I'm sure I remember reading something about this elsewhere, but not taking a lot of notice. Just lately the old majestic grey is messing me around, nothing serious but its still puzzeling. Around 50% of the time and normally when she has been sat a while, she wont start unless the clutch is pulled in. Once she has started you can stop the engine and she will start again with just a press of the button. has anyone else come across this, does anyone else's bike have to have the clutch pulled before it will start.

Not here. Provided she's in neutral it makes no difference whether the clutch is pulled in or not. Sidestand can be up or down as well and it still makes no difference. With bike in gear, whether the stand is up or down, she'll start with clutch pulled in, no problems. Suggest you check sidestand, neutral and clutch switches before you find yourself walking home.

There's a switch on the clutch lever (Back of it), try pressing it in with your finger at the same time as you press the start button, if it works it's the switch sticking. I've got the same problem with mine, I'll probably fix it when I get sick of pulling the clutch in
