Hi grem & all, re Aberystwyth ride out if you recall i had a misfire on the 1100 and fuel pouring out , well aint had the fuel leaking since ive stopped filling to the top of the tank, but alas on friday the misfire returned -unless i kept it over 30,000 rpm , and as i took a right hander banking over i glanced down and saw a long bolt sticking out the side of the carbs so checked my manual and apparently it keeps the four carbs tight together so ive put a new 5mm nut on and tightend everything up. Do you think this would have been the problem with the carbs drawing air in as they were loose

It's about time you put in an appearence, I was beginning to wonder where you'd got to. Yes, there's every possibility that if the carbs aren't bolted together they can drawe air in or allow petrol out. While you're at it check the tightness of the carbs to the inlet rubbers etc. as these can show similar symptoms. Which manual have you got? I've got a Haynes Manual that covers the ZZR if you want it? Oh, and who did the tuning work on it and what kinda speed can you get out of it at 30,000 rpm?
