www.kawasaki.cz/naked/zrx1200.pdfThis was released in 2001 by Kawasaki to launch the new ZRX1200 A/B/C models, taking over from the ZRX1100. This 16 page PDF, gives details of the changes in the engine over the 1100, colour schemes and model designations. I pawed over it when dreaming of buying a 1200 and have kept it on computer ever since......

Brilliant FLOOG! :ten: I've got a better idea, or at least one that's as good as. I've been considering adding some kind of Archive thread to the 1100/1200 Faq section for items like this. We have had a few road tests and the like already posted on this site and all too often, that sort of information slips down the board into obscurity making it difficult to locate them later. Items like this are a valuable find and an asset to the site so really need to be stored more carefully. ZRX-UK has its own webspace so hosting of such items isn't a problem

Nice one floog, just what I was looking for, info on the model designations, I was getting confused. Has there been any changes to the models since 2001 do you Know? By that I mean is a 2004 model the same as a 2001 model technically speaking or are there just cosmetics? I've seen one for sale which was registered 2003 but is a b1 model which is 2001. I expect to negotiate a lower price if this is the case

I've seen one for sale which was registered 2003 but is a b1 model which is 2001. I expect to negotiate a lower price if this is the case I assume you are talking about an 'S' model here When I was hunting for a REX, I spoke to several dealerships who had good deals on brand new and unregistered B1 'S' models from 2001 and B3 models from 2003. Generally they charged about £300 more for the 03 models, and I could have got them for around £4795 OTR As far as I am aware, the engine and body stayed the same right up until it's demise in August 2004 in the UK. Just colour variations and graphics. Very late 2004 models might turn up with the full stainless shiny exhaust but I've not seen one yet The only (weird) change I can determine concerns the 'R' model for 2006, which apparently has an extra one litre in the tank, now 20.6L over the standard 19L (not sure if it's true or not) If you can get a really good deal on a B1 or B2, you're getting a new bike with a cracking motor, that's been stored.......just don't pay too much. The Rex is now deleted and some dealers will sell you a brand new 06 A6F 'R' model with shiny exhaust and other cosmetic changes, for £5300-£5500!!! Worth considering Any year, any colour, 'R', 'S' or naked, 1100 & 1200.....they're all fabulous and it just depends on what you wish to spend. You won't regret it
