For a future ZRXUK gathering.......Long way off I know but thought it might be worth mentioning........ The GREMLINS and FLOOGS & hopefully MICHAEL, all heartily recommend the pub next to the PORTLAND where we were staying for the FOD meet :ten: The food was absolutely superb and as an example, a two course meal with drinks cost us £70 for FIVE people The PORTLAND was fabulous and the guy who owns it could not have been more accommodating, nor biker friendly. He said next time around he would be happy to fill the B&B with us lot and could supply a network of similar B&B accommodation within walking distance so to speak Worth baring in mind. Fall out of the Portland and into the excellent pub, we can all drink, all get lagging and fill up on superb pub grub.... Plug over

70 quid for a meal and drinks for 5 people, I managed to spend a mere 32 on a meal for two, with no drinks. but dont you worry about me and Karen, next year were bringing a picinic with us as it happens the owner of the Saracen is a biker ( well he's got a Vulcan anyway) and he would also block book if we got in early enough.

:agreed: FLOOG It gets my vote too. :win: Having sampled both the Portland (and the neighbouring Hotel whose name escapes me for the moment) along with the Saracens Head I know where I'd rather be. Booking accommodation, particularly at short notice like we all did is often a lottery but The FLOOGS and Gremlins dropped lucky this time. Not only was the Portland exactly as described, if not better, nobody even mentioned the wonderful establishment immediately next door. Yes, we ought to think about booking 2007s' bash a little earlier, possibly around about Christmas. Speaking of which, Vinny has already suggested the possibility of some sort of winter (Xmas?) meet which we ought to think about first. That's for another thread though.
