Had to take my boy out today for a razz to Leics. Was a great day for it, only worry was being pulled for a bald rear tyre, but needs must. Wow, it was fab, I was a total speed freak and thoroghly enjoyed it so had to share it with you all. Now, can anyone recommend a dirt cheap tyre and I mean cheap...oh and rear brake pads cause I aint got none.... And Ive put new tyres on my old bikes, would it be any different with the zrx? Im :broke: so gotta cut costs where pos. Ta. ;D

It's always good to get out for a refreshing blast in the winter and not getting soaking wet :storm: for your troubles is a bonus.
Surprisingly enough, the OE pads from the dealers are liable to be the cheapest option. EBC HH for the rear worked out at nearly double the price and seeing as most of your braking is done with the front there seems little to justify the expense.
Be very careful with tyres. Cheap rubber with less grip could lead to an expensive accident so may be a false economy in th long run. Overall handling could be affected too, particularly if your tyres are mismatched.
Mail order would be the way to go for cheap tyres. Have a look in BikeShop at the entry for tyres for possible suggestions. Busters or M&P occasionally do deals on tyres too. If changing it yourself, be careful not to damage the alloy rim. A new tyre usualy has a yellow dot on the sidewall which should be placed opposite the valve. this should help with balancing. Don't forget that the tyre will be directional too. Look out for the arrow on the sidewall showing you which way round it should go.
