Buy it, the s is notsold here anymore and are becomming harder to find, especially good ones. They offer a lot more wind protection than the ELR so are better for touring and high speed jinks. There is not much that goes wrong with these bikes the egines are detuned zzr lumps ans therefore bullitproof. Woops nearly forgot, welcome to the ZRXUK. Nice bunch of people ;D

the one im looking at looks very clean, his down pipes are a disgrace though, have to egt the missus busy with bucket of autosol.
its got a couple of screens with it , one of thems a kind of flip up touring thing, and the original can.
got to take my sv dow next week to see if we cab do a deal, hope we can it looks sweet and will much more suit my lardy frame.
does the screen make much diff ? with the SV i can sit on my own private road t a ton without much wind blast.

Most of us on here with S versions have the double bubble screen, look through the pics section and you'll get some ideas, the downpipes should be black?, if they are they come up nice with good old fashioned grate polish. If there not black then they have been changed or have had the coating stripped.
the fact that it comes with the original can and screen speaks volumes.

I think I'm probably the best one to answer that after my little mishap a week or so ago. I did have a Powerbronze Airflow screen on my 1200S which I thought was brill. Having had to refit the original screen while I wait for a replacement I KNOW it was brill. The larger screeen does lift the air a fair bit higher without causing any turbulence, making high speed, ton plus (on my private road, officer) rides that much more comfortable. Even my co-pilot has noticed the difference.

:agreed: Buy it buy it & buy it.
I moved from a GSXF to the REX S in Feb and have been smiling ever since.
All mine is standard for now but as Grem says a new screen will make all the difference.

the bike im looking at is on an 03 plate and ia red S, i thought that the red was an 04 colour, am i right or wrong?, is this bike likely to be an import? The only Red S that I know about that was an official UK bike was one like this one. If it's more of a plain red with narrow stripes more like the old GPz livery then it WILL be an import as sadly, the UK never got that one. The one in the top pic was another colour choice to my black/blue 52 reg S. '03 saw the introduction of a different blue S and a silver (not majestic grey). The red was dropped from the range. It's entirely possible for that red one to be registered on an '03 plate if the original dealer didn't manage to knock a grand off the asking price and shift his stocks over the winter like mine did. ;D I've actually seen a black/blue S like mine on an '04 plate when oficially 52 should have been the last so don't let it worry you.

If it's an import that's already been registered for use on UK roads it should already have had clocks either replaced or re-calibrated in some way. The headlight should also dip to the left. I believe there should also be some sort of certificate that say as much. Maybe someone with experience of imports can confirm that?
Phoenix?? Yours was an import.

Welcome to the "S" club Captain.......you will definitely NOT be sorry to ride that bike! I have seen a few red rexers about, in fact "Dogruff" has one in Stone, Staffs. Of course, the BEST colour ever produced is BLACK, shading to grey, with gold striping. If you come to some Midland rideouts, you may be very lucky and see one ! All the "R" models are (sadly) inferior and are usually in a sort of greeny colour.
