If these bikes have been well maintained (primarily regular oil/filter changes) and not run on its side when down, they are pretty reliable. Many have gone well over that mileage and I am aware of quite a number that have 100,000 plus miles on them.

Condition and service history are more important than age because nothing much changed apart from the paintjobs. Mileage not particularly an issue as long as it's been looked after. Look inside the oil filler hole at the clutch. If the outer plate has dings on it, the starter chain tensioner is on it's way out. If it lets go it will destroy the clutch and possibly the engine if bits of clutch get in there (it cost OzzyDel his big ends). A kit from here kwickstand.net/Hyper-Formance.com/Welcome.html fixes the problem for around £80, money well spent. I've done mine, it takes about half an hour to do. The alternator drive bolt can come loose and make a sound not unlike a knackered cam chain, i have met someone who's changed the cam chain only to find the rattle is still there, oops! It takes about half an hour to remove the alternator, locktite and re-tighten the bolt and re-fit.
