Time to let rip :hair: vent the anger that has welled inside us since we did it :explode: .....time to name and shame a bike so bad we can't bear to recall the fact that WE ACTUALLY BOUGHT ONE IN THE FIRST PLACE.....
Mine was a MOTO GUZZI V65 FLORIDA :bricks:
I came from two superb Yamaha DT125 LC MKII's and was up for my first big bike. The Guzzi looked fantastic, offered a V-twin with five times the engine size of what I was used to and I really fell in love with it It was unloved and second hand in Aye Gee's showroom at about £2000.
As I pulled away from the showroom, it spluttered and died half a mile away and refused to start I pushed the elephant back to the showroom where it sat for days being worked on. After that, it refused to start....most every day because of a failed rectifier.....kept conking out because of fuel starvation ....handled like a pig and could not corner due to negligible ground clearance and too much lard.....the clutch cable snapped, one silencer holed due to internal rust just outside of the warranty (£87), it was pushed over in the car park by kids which wrecked the screen. It rusted if you showed it a packet of salt and vinegar crisps......
I traded it in and bought a wonderful shaft driven KAWASAKI GT750 with panniers and screen which was bombproof and fun :ten: ..........or was it the KLE500 original full power model in bright purple with a pink seat?? (again superb, unlike the watered down detuned piece of rubbish that's been resurected!!).
ONE saving grace for the V65 ......a mate so loved it's looks, that I taught him to ride on it in the works car park and he passed his test.....and bought a HONDA BROS 650.......
