Hi. Any of you zrxers help me out on this ? I have just bought a ZRX1200 S and am a little confused as to when it was made. The logbook and original receipt ( from Busters) say it was registered as new in Jan 2005, but the model number (B2P) and VIN number say it is a 2002 model. Had it checked out by MCN bikecheck before I bought it, and all the registration dates checked out. The original sale receipt and PDI was included and these were for a new bike registered in 2005. Did Kawasaki bury a load of ZRX's in a big hole for 3 years ? Would like to know as it is difficult to get dealers to understand I want spares for a 2005 B2P model. Thanks.

I think you will find that some dealers had some "S"s hanging around for some years at the back of their showrooms, although holding on to a 2002 for 3 years sounds a bit extreme.
I seem to remember that the last of the "S"s were sold as new only a couple of years ago, although several years since they had been manufactured..
if you are looking for bits, use 2002 as later models had subtle changes like fork tube inners etc

They stopped making the S model around 2004, I was looking for a new one about 3 years ago (2007) and found that you could still get one but it was a 2004 model that had been sat in the storeroom, as it was someone else beat me to it.
Its not a problem just use the fact that you need spare for a B2P and not a 2005 model.
