Whenever I come back on to ZRXUK it's the same as it was last time I looked even after pressing the 'mark forums read' button. I find myself having to press refresh every time.

Whenever I come back on to ZRXUK it's the same as it was last time I looked even after pressing the 'mark forums read' button. I find myself having to press refresh every time. It sounds as though when you leave this site, marking forums read as you do so, your cache is remembering what the page looked like at that time. When re-opening the site, because you have been here before your computer is opening the cached page, making it look as though nobody has posted. Clicking refresh reloads the CURRENT page as it is in real time. Don't know what the cause is or how to remedy this. Unless somebody has any better ideas, the best suggestion I can make is not to press any buttons (other than Refresh) in case you format your hard drive or something. I'm forever getting blamed for things like that. Only this morning I was accused of bringing the college network to a grinding halt simply because I was running a clever little proggie from my flash drive. Try clicking Refresh before you leave the site. That would update the cached image and present that the next time you come on.
However, I think there is should be a setting in your Browser that says whether, when you access a site, it goes to the cached version or refreshes the site. If you've got that set to cached, it will always display the last version (without updates) so you wouldn't see the current version.
In IE6 its under Tools>Internet Options>Temporary Internet Files>Settings where you have a choice of "check for newer version of stored page: -every visit to the page -every time you start IE -Automatic -Never"
I have mine set at automatic and I never have this problem. I'm not sure I'd set it to everytime I started IE because I visit a lot of pages and I expect that if the computer went out to verify the status of every site cached it could slow up the boot up of IE - a lot! Every visit to the page might be OK as well, never tried it.
If that is set to Never, you'll be starting from scratch every time.
