Linking to other sites:
1. Open the site or page you want to link to in your browser.
2. Copy the URL (web Addy) from your address bar.
3. Start your new post.
4. To add the link, paste that URL, highlight it by dragging the mouse cursor across it, making sure you highlight all the text.
5. Click on the button marked and the URL tags should be added automatically.
6. Finish your post, hit "Post Reply", job done.
Linking to images:
Similar to the above but instead of the URL for the entire page you just need the URL of the image. This can vary from browser to browser but is similar in principle.
1. Right click the image and a dialogue box comes up.
2. Select properties and click.
3. Here's where it can differ. In the box that pops up next there should be a line that reads "Location", Image URL or similar. It's usually followed by a line of text that starts "http://www........" That's the line you need to copy as your Image URL, making sure you copy the entire line(s)
Continue from point 4. above.
Don't forget the test post area.
Once you've mastered the above, try the really clever bit.
Unfortunately, on this site when you post a link it always displays the entire URL as the link. This can look untidy, img.photobucket.com/albums/v382/ZRXgremlin/My%20ZRX%201200s/grem1.jpgand can spoil the flow of the text. This would look better. (Both links point to the same image).
When you look at the code for first link above it looks like this:
Here's the code for the text link:
Spot the dirfference?
1. Replace the tag bracket ']' after the first url word with '='
2. Add tag bracket ']' and text for link immediately before [/url]
Sounds complicated but isn't. ;D
