Hia all. I was wandering if anyone can advise me on this, 02 plate 1200s, starts fine when cold but sometimes will not start when the bike has warmed up. 15 minutes riding or so. Try to start and just turns over, have to wait a while and then starts straight away. First time when cold. Thanks

Have you checked your battery power level? Often a battery will turn a ZRX over but not fire the plugs. I wonder if, when hot, whether the engine is a bit harder to crank - therefore using more of the available battery power with not enough to fire the plugs?
Batteries need to be in top condition to start these bikes. Needs to be tested under load, not just sitting there with a battery tester on it.

The battery seems to be fine, but on two occasions the bike has not started when cold, checked the battery and it was one digit from full.

It doesn't take much below full charge for them to not start. Try checking the voltage while you are turning it over (battery loaded) and see what you are getting then. If not very close to full charge, the battery needs replacing.

I had a ZXR750 H1 years ago that did exactly this (Starts ok cold but wouldn't re start when hot). Turned out to be a valve clearance issue
Hope this helps (In reality I hope im wrong and I was of no help)

Sounds like your valve clearances are too tight, get a feeler gauge in them it should be ok when correct clearance is achieved
