We had a good ol' "gully washer" here last night.
Thunder and lightning and pouring rain for about 3 hours. Got up this morning to about 3" of rain in various containers around the yard. No flooding here because I live near the top of a hill and all water runs away from my place. The city got about the same and there was some flooded roads.
However, this is minor compared to the flooding happening in the two provinces to the east of us. Saskatchewan and Manitoba both received huge rainfall amounts about a week ago and hundreds of communities were flooded. The flood water crest is moving from Saskatchewan to Manitoba and making the problem worse there. Manitoba has declared a provincial state of emergency and the armed forces are moving in to assist with sandbagging to try to contain the flow.
Sun's out right now and things are a bit "steamy" out there.
