So I am at work on Wednesday morning when I receive a phone call from my daughter, she is and I can hardly understand her. after calming her down she informs me that she was been involved in a RTI, some woman has T boned her car.
I immediately proceeded to the scene to find both police and ambulance in attendance. Jodie is in the ambulance being strapped to a spine board, and her car (well technically Karens car) is completely caved in on the passenger side.
Now it turns out the driver of the other car failed to notice she was approaching a give way sign, even though she actually lives in the same road, and drove into Jodie who was driving down a main road. and she hit her with enough force to push the car into the path of the oncoming traffic.
The woman driving the other car is very apologetic using the fact that she was late on the school run and distracted as an excuse.
I am now distracted myself by a gentleman who came out of his house to tell anybody who would listen that these boy racers bring accidents on themselves by speeding everywhere, and so the woman should not feel to bad about what she has done. Out of courtesy I ask him if he had witnessed the accident (negative reply)before inviting him to retreat back to his home or visit the ambulance (well thats the abridged version without the swearing or violence).
As I now had the attention of the police officer on scene, I informed him I was Jodies dad and inquired as to what was occuring reference the wrecked cars, breathalyzing the woman ( should be automatic at an RTI). Anyway he had done nothing nor did he think it in anyones interest to charge the woman with driving with undue care and attention.
So after organising the removal of our car, I talked to the ambulance technician, who said the spinal board was only a precaution, I then talked to Jodie to reassure myself she was okay, sorted out her boyfriend to go to the hospital with her.
Anyway after all that Jodie is okay, well some nasty bruising and genuine whiplash was opposed to whipcash .
