More commonly known now as the KAwasaki season, there are so many ZX10s onthe grid its interesting.
What info I ahve so far is that the new 17" rims and tyres are not great in the wet as qualifying for Brands showed. As soon as they close the throttle for the corners in the wet it unloads the rear and off they come.
That is why some of the slower riders (for BSB) such as Peter Baker, more on him later and Jenny Tinmouth did so well in qualifying.
Peter Baker is a 55 year old Thundersport racer who is a bit of a know it all, my sources tell me (you know YB)
Anyway he did well in Q1 at brands in the top 20, BUT never bothered going out for Q2 because some numb nut of a steward said only the top 15 went for Q2 so he just sat there.
He refused to listen to advice from certain people in his team and refused to go out again. This did cause some problems for the organisers.
In Race 2 he managed to ignore all the signs and got in the way fo Josh Brookes on the last lap. I am again informed that it is highly unlikely that he will be with Morello team after Oulton.
In other news due to Nicky Coates breaking a rib and puncturing a lung in Super Stock 1000 Moto-Breakers have got Karl Harris riding for them now. I spoke to Karl on Sunday and he is up for the challenge and has been training hard for it. Super Stock 1000 is a very strongly competed series so it will be interesting to watch, unfortunately not telivised live on race day. In Round 1 there was some fighting in front of the cameras.
They have a licence points system similar to road riding, 12 points and you are out. From what I can gather Jess Traynor is on 6 points already due to attacking another rider after an off, the other ride is banned from the round at Oulton.
More to come as I get the latest from my sources in the paddock
