I remember on my first visit to the Isle of Man TT, i met a retired Doctor. He was in his early seventies, grey hair and as thin as a latt. He went across every year on his own after splitting with his wife. He the smallest tent you have ever seen and slept in his one piece for the whole two weeks His name was Doc Willis. wich he had on his leathers and HEXHAM spread across the back, as that was his home town. He came over on a 748 and would get up every morning at 3 a.m and have a blast across the mountain about 8 times before breakfast The year after, we met him again, and he asked if we would like to go with him one morning. This time his steed was a VFR. We took him up on his offer. My pal and i decided we would not embarace the guy and take it easy. Off we went at the crack of sparra's JEEZUS! this guy could ride! I was on a ZXR750 and my mate on CBR600 and we couldn't touch him, and we aint no mugs on a bike! What a fella. Year after, he turned up on an R1. Even after smashing himself up on a track day. He was still rapid Unfortunately Doc died a few years ago from a heart attack. Tha moral of this story? You can still be bloody fast (and safe) at a ripe old age and make the most of it while you can There's hope for us yet

What a great story RT Old don't mean slow, it reminds me of that film The fastest Indian , where that Aussie bloke ( can't think of his name for the min, took his old self built Indian to the salt flats in America .

I've seen the actual bike in a hardware shop in Invercargill, New Zealand. The whole place is like a bikers wonderland

Yeah, its a good film. Watched it last in a large marquee at Le Mans GP a couple of years ago.. The streamliner used in the film is actually a V=twin Ducati Elephant 750, one of 6 they made for the film. Still bloody awesome. And I use that word advisedly, Brakey
