Hi Take me i while to navigate this site. Glad to be on board. The pic i posted of my REX was taken just after wheels powder coated and stainless system fitted with a stubby slash cut can supplied by A16. Sounds amazing. I bought the bike about 18 months ago with only 3500 miles on it (1999 C1) The last owner has it foe 8 years in a heated garage and all the M.O.T's had a milage diff of 10 miles. M.O.T station and back!! It was like showroom new. It has now done 13500 with a trip to Andorra, Spain,France. and just returned from a 200 miler in Scottish Highlands and she never missed a beat. I've had many bikes over the years CBR's Firestorm, Bandits, VFR's Etc but can honestly say the REX is the best bike i've had. Does everything and as you know pulls like a train. Few mods planned. Hoses, Screen etc. New rubber next. Not hapy with Maxxis i put on. Take forever to warm up. Not like the prev Bridgstones. Thinking of Pilot road 2's next. any feedback would be helpful. Bye for now.

It's not bad. Looking to go back to Isle of Sky next yr as chucked it down when there this yr. Missed out on the scenery a bit. Good excuse to go back. The bike did av trouble starting a few times after a few very wet rides tho. Is this a rex thing do you know? How long you had yours pete?

Nope never had issues starting mine in the wet, sometimes in the summer on warm days when shes not sure if she needs the choke or not but thats about it, i'd give her electrics a good dose of something oily, especially under the tank, always used WD40 personally but a lot of the boys on here recommend ACF50, just got some myself to give it a go.
Just starting my 8th year of ownership, had her from new, first two years i clocked up 14000ish miles then this blasted recession hit and i think i've covered about the same again since, same as you been all over Britain (Wales, Scotland) on her, trips to Spain, Gibralter, Germany, France ect, love the bike with no plans to part company any time soon.

June = midges far as i know, horrible little bastards, i went August/September, first night at Loch Lomond, second night at Ullapool (got eaten alive here) then up and across the very top road in Scotland (A838/A836 Durness/Tongue) to John O'Groats camped there, down to Loch Ness for the night and onto Glasgow to visit friends. Midges had me at Ullapool and all the way up the west coast, rest of the trip was fineif a little wet.

EEEK! That don't sound good. I got em for about an hour at Strathy right up north. Did my head in. Had to stop to get the damn things out of my helmet. I've heard that skin so soft from Avon is really good. I took some just in case. I didn't mind smelling a little er! Queer if the little B*****ds left me alone!! I just love those roads and views.

I did those roads too. Enjoyed the A897 in search of Golden Eagles to no avail sadly. In fact i enjoyed al of the highland roads. I think REX wants to go to Wales too. She's so demanding !!
