anybody done a clutch, do you need any special tools, had a quick look and they mentioned special tools

Think it depends on what you are going to do to the clutch. Just replacing plates and springs - no special tools, but I THINK you need to be able to hold the basket still with a special tool if you want to remove said basket. This locks the basket to the clutch hub and allows you to undo the nut on the mainshaft.
I had to make one for the 900 which is a similar layout

Just repalcing the plates Burchy. Poor old m8 is not very well just now but hopefully he is on the way to recovery.

OK. The outer clutch cover can be sticky. Don't go mad with a f**k off screwdriver and a hammer to shift it. There are little tabs cast into it to allow you a bit of leverage. If memory serves, about 10 o'clock as you look at it

Will do though m8 is on the mend and has hidden the parts so I cant attempt it myself  and he is away for the weekend as well  So will be next week when we do it  and no what you mean about the covers, had them off the other side, gently gently was the order of the day.
