Well for once the rain had a day off, a bit over cast in the morning with the Sun on stand by to burn through later. We set of for Oban on dry roads but on route we came across a about 100 or so tractors doing a run from Montrose to Oban ! All going about 15 mph never have we seen so many sad cage drivers as Brakey & I shot past LOL We arrived at Oban with Brakey having cramp in his right leg, parking was fun a he could not push the bike with said right leg. We retired to our regular watering hole which was almost empty, we asked to be seated where we could dump our gear, so we were sat in a corner "great" then the same girl told us to move our kit so she could cram another couple in beside us ! They looked as bemused as we were? Look I said we will sit in one of the bothes(sp) err no we were told we might need them if it gets busy WTF the place was empty FFS, I asked her does she want our business or not or is there a mega rush off bus tourists about to turn up & take the other 80 odd seats ?? She replied I don't get paid to take this !! No you don't I replied you are paid to make sure your customers are pleased to be here & get good service so he can keep you employed!. Now could you get me the Manager or Owner please... He did appoligise for her attitude but we said on this occasion we would take our money elseware. Anyhow 260 miles of great roads, it was a grand day out

Sorry, couldn't help thinking of Wallace & Gromit when reading that post title. They have a tractor rally like that not far from here and I managed to get myself caught up in the middle of it somehow. Not quite as awkward as getting stuck in the middle of a funeral courgette or whatever you call it, (spell checker couldn't find it either and that was the closest) which I managed to do on several occasions having previously lived near a cemetery. There must have been some logic behind that serving wench telling people where to sit.. maybe she was just trying to keep the place tidy and organised. Thinking about it, maybe we should get a sidecar for poor old brakey. Leg cramps would cease to be a problem and he'd always have somewhere to sit to rest his weary old body if and when other problems occur. Just a thought. :mut:

Grem m8 I have made the offer to fit a sidecar on more than one occasion but for some reason Brakeys dead against the idea, as for the waitress her boss & owner said he had words with her before but she is a & I quote "a useless nightmare & only slightly better than no staff"

Maybe you should have offered to sit in the "no staff" part of the establishment

Leg cramps
A royal pain in the arse (or close by at any rate) if you are unfortunate enough to suffer them. My leathers are a fairly snug fit, particularly around the tops of the legs. On my previous bike to the ZRX, a GPz1100e I was forever getting cramps on that. I always put that down to the riding position and thankfully rarely suffer on the ZRX. . . . . . . . . unless I have too much stuff in my trouser pockets. This afternoon for some reason I had and extra handkerchief in my pocket which is just enough to make the jeans tighter and stop circulation. Just a thought, try a different pair of jeans if yo have some and see if that helps.

We had a grand day out too. Went over to Essex and Mersea Island. Now for some reason we went in the car not the bike ? ? As we got nearer the coast there was some fantastic bends winding around the local little villages. Never crossed my mind once " I wish I'd come on the bike" .... No not once. Just ALL the bloody time. Anyhow got plenty of sea breeze and local cought fish to go with our chips !
We even blagged our why in to the local yacht club house for a coffee, ( doubt if we could have managed that , turning up on the bike )
Nice sunny day, pity about the wind tho. Still it was on the coast. !

Sure Badge, I'll give ya a Canadian dispensation. Brakey and Grem can take the issue up with me, but only face to face, eh? ;D
