Some of you may be aware that Proboards are in the process of upgrading all of their customers boards, including of course this one. I've been given a sneaky preview of what the newly upgraded board will look like and at for a quick glance doesn't look all that different. Further examination reveals that many of the little tweaks I have made over the years by way of improvement (read: an alternative way of slowing the board down). I have the opportunity to re-instate some of these but am having difficulty in remembering what they were and how they work so probably best left well alone for the moment. Any questions you might have about the upgrade when it occurs, probably later this month, will be answered here.

Image test from my Imageshack store. Works. Image saved to Imageshack. Chose Shared image and chose URL designed for forums. Have not tried linking a file directly from my computer.

I've not used the uploader for a considerable time and was unaware that it was broken. Looking for a fix now.

'Tis fixed. This system will add a thumbnail image to your post as above The old imageshack uploader has gone In its place, immediately below the smileys is a link that reads "Add image to post" Click that link and a popup box pops up. You can now browse to any image on your hard drive or add the web address of any image if you click the "Web" link in the popup. Maximum size of image is 5Mb which is quite large enough. You have the option to resize the image. Unless you have taken the photo on your digital camera at ridiculously high resolution there should be no need to bother with this. To make sure, you could preview your own post and image first. Otherwise 800x600(15" monitor) is perfectly sufficient for most of us and is what I posted above. Feel free to give it a try yourself in the test post area.

This is just weird. No place to apparently remain logged in. Does this mean I have to log in every time I come to the site? ( having tried once, the answer appeared to be YES, that one would have to log in again each time one visits. , but the second time I returned, it recognised me ) But when I came back today, I had to log in again!!! Posting now appears to be a multi step process All our story telling smilies are gone.
