I have Conti Road Attacks and they are lasting, and sticking, well. No experience with the Conti Motions.

Ha ha. . . just wondered, cuz M&P have an offer on at £129 a pair. I know theyre sport/touring rubber, but i cant find anyone thats used them (or can give me a sensible opinion ) I need some new tyres quite urgently on the Blackbird, but price & mileage are the most important factors.

Are they £129 delivered?
If money were no object, id go for Mich Pilot Road 3 ot Avons, but theyre £200 + a pair.
I just want cheap tyres that'll last me 3 or 4000 miles of long distance commuting, mainly on motorways & srtaight A roads.
My priorities are:
!) Price 2) Mileage 3) Feel 4) Grip
Ive seen these Conti's advertised cheap & just wondered if anyone has actually tried them & had a genuine opinion on them.

Just go for them, Snoops. They will last only about 6 weeks the way you ride

Cheeky bugger. . . ive slowed down a bit these days. . . That must mean you ain't riding that Blackbird to it full potential ? Oh hang on it needs tyres, that's why you have slowed down a bit ! Stick a pair of Pirelli Angel GT's on it & to hell with the cost & rag it the way Mr Honda intended.

Cheeky bugger. . . ive slowed down a bit these days. . . No need to slow down. If anythinmg I've got quicker over the last year or so. The ZX9R and the 14 might have something to do with that, though

Trouble is, the ground clearance is so rubbish on a Blackbird. . . especially the R/H side. Ive worn holes in the lower fairings on all 4 of the 'Birds ive had & the last one i even wore a hole in the exhaust collector under the engine. Ive done all the normal Blackbird suspension mods - 6mm ( now increased to 10mm) spacer on top of the rear shock, stiffer fork springs & thicker fork oil & the extra ground clearance just allows me to lean over further before it all touches down again! The guys on the Blackbird forum have similar problems, but at the end of the day, the Blackbird aint a sports bike. But, i do tend to use this one as a bit of a "hack". It does a 100 mile commute to work at 6:00am on a Monday & back on Tuesday eve, then the same again on Weds/Thurs - thats 400 miles of motorway & straight A roads, then it might do a few miles at the weekend for a bit of fun, so the tyres have to be something long lasting above all else. Ive stopped using up a rear inside 1500 miles these days, but if i could find something cheap(ish)that'll last me 3500 - 4000 miles (yes, really) i'd be happy with that.

The ground clearance has always been the Birds Achilles heal I have 12mm in mine Ohlins uprated springs in the front & currently saving my pennies for a Ohlins for the rear, I'm on my 3rd R/H lower fairing which is not to bad after 10 years of ownership.

Pirelli Diabalo Stradas - £139 from M&P. That'll do nicely. Delivery in the morning, so i guess i'll be fitting them tomorrow afternoon. Might give the wheels a quick spray over with satin black before i sling the new tyres on
