Has anyone removed the drain plug coolant pipe from their bike?

When I took mine off to get it painted there was no O ring fitted, I've checked this link

Which shows one fitted, I've tried fitting one but the pipe will not fit properly with it fitted

It never leaked before it was removed, so I wondered if it needs to be fitted

Happen to have drianed down 2 12's last week and both used plain washers

Hi i have the 1100 and mine has o rings on the coolant headers as i did the same thing but i didnt fit the o rings back properly and broke down as coolant leaked out as the pressure in the system increased.Make sure they are fitted correctly.
