Just logged on and its all squeezed into about the middle half of my screen Sumbudy bin messin' with the layout? Even takes double the lines to display the Smileys now since they won't fit into 3 any more As I change from one part of the Board to another it briefly flashes at the old layout (wider) and then shrinks I checked other forums I'm on and they all look the same, so its not a setting on the computer that's fouled up.

OK, that'll be me then. I'd only just introduced the new look board minutes before you arrived, complete with alll it's gremlins, and worse still glitches. It worked perfectly well on our test board but one or two of the existing codes working in the background here were conflicting with the new one. Hopefully now I'm well on the way to getting it sorted , although not quite completely. Yes' the width of the board IS narrower than before and a little different to many others out there, BUT it is still the same size as it would be if you had a narrower screen, if you see what I'm getting at. One of the major problems on this board of late has been the difficulty in getting images posted successfully without the board being stretched out of shape. I've just made the discovery that those of us who had glowing text in our profiles, a feature that only works in IE anyway, were adding to the problem. You might find your own profile a lot narrower now as a result which allows the text area to be a more reasonable size. You'll notice that each section of the board and even individual posts now have their own separators to them. This is how I discovered the above problem. Once a member with a wide profile had posted on a thread, the board was then stretched for the rest of the page. Posting images should now work out a little less memory dependant as I'm just about to arrange for the larger ones to be posted externally. This should go a long way into enhancing everybodys "viewing pleasure". ;D As for the smilies above the posting area, that's just a simple case of having a narrower board putting the existing line breaks in the wrong place and is easily dealt with. I see we have six and a bit lines of the darned things here now instead of the usual 3, caused by there being a couple extra on each line. Perhaps we could stretch to four lines?? I had 3 and a bit here anyway to cater for a couple of my personal ones that aren't on "general release". Bear with me, this is all in attempt to make for a faster, more streamlined and efficient board.

So Les, can we blame all this on you and your new-fangled computer thingy ;D BTW I see Grem's already addressed the extra lines of smilies

Just finished re-jigging the smilies (yet again) minutes before you arrived lightspeed. I've been deliberately testing this site on an older, slower laptop with smaller screen resolution (worst case scenario etc.) just to see what needs tweaking and how and can confirm that the site is most definitely a lot quicker now. Still some fine tuning to do here and there but the major changes seem to have achieved the desired effect.

OK, I just noticed the icon under our avatar that links directly to a PM. Was that there before and I didn't notice, or is that new? Whatever, it's

I have to be careful doing that 'cos the Ban Button :ban: is right next to the one marked "Send Personal Message". What an idiotic place to put it.
