Sounds about right to me. The airscrew only affects the pilot jet, so won't have any real effect once you are underway.
If you want to experiment a little, start with balancing the carbs, then turn the tickover up to about 1200. do one carb at a time and turn the screw in or out 1/8 of a turn at a time and settle it when he revs stay higher than set. then reset the tickover and do the next carb etc. make sure you know the original bases settings for each carb before you start, so you can get back to th beginning when you fcuk it up

Kev, I've already downloaded that one. It says GPz750 on the front, but the actual document is the KZ750 E1 and KZ750 H1. If youn want that, Sparky pm me your addy and I'll put it on a disc for you. It's too big to go by email

Cheers Burchy What with all this freezing weather ive not been able to take the GP for a run since ive had her up and running but seems like the carbs do need tweeking as the idle seems eratic when revved , you rev it and it takes a while to rest to normal idle :hmm:

Erratic idle for me usually indicates either an air leak somewhere, one of those little blanking rubbers missing, or a split diaphram

:hmm: Strange that ? Its only done it since the really cold weather ? Maybe carb icing Seems to be ok when warmed up . I shall check for air leaks but cant hear any unusual air leaks ...just snorts a bit when its gasping through the K&N's I think the old bird needs a good run to clear the cobwebs out Brakey
