Me new project for the winter is this steal off the bay of fleas All bog standard apart from some nice cone air filters...Its got a lovely replacement chrome 4 into 1 on it too which looks good, im turning it into a kinda rat bike but wont be chopping much off it .........................yet The story with the bike is that it had been ridden in for a MOT about 3-4 yrs ago and passed then ridden straight back into the garage and not used since A quick check over and all was ok untill i got home and found it was topped up with too much oil that was making it smoke the garden out Its ok now Ill load the pic of how i got it then load the ones of how its looking soon

Nice to be back and thanks everyone Well YB this bike model was my first big bike after my test way back then and always wanted one back , I remember i swapped it for a FZR750 after some years and wot bag of nails that was Regretted getting rid but ive been on the look out for one of these for some time and kept getting out bid right at the last minute As for the 2 you mentioned for sale yb that seems to be a good deal and sounds like a good project prividing you got at least one decent engine . Quite a few spares knocking around still so good news there Its not bad kev and its all there and running so just left for me to tart her up a bit and get her ready for MOT This was a buy it now for peanuts so i dived in and took it ... Not sure about them Badger different i guess but ill be getting new ones soon...the tank has been sprayed matt black now together with the tail piece, just the side panels and fairing to do . All the paint was faded and flakey so off it came Thanks Brakey...the missus is well pleased ive got another bike

UPDATE... All the bike has been sprayed a nice coat of rat black apart from the belly pan ive modded to fit today, it came off a zrx 1100 and one that i had in the back of the shed The bike had 2 cracked indicator lenses so ive replaced them with mini ones all round , had to replace the relay to them as well as the old relay would not work them Made me own belly pan brackets and just one more thing to do before she goes for the MOT Oil and filter change and hopefully another zed lives again with a full MOT Pics soon when i take her out of the shed Now just one question ..The rear brake light works fine but no brake light works from the front So will this pass the MOT as im thinking this is standard without a brake light working from the lever on the handlebar

Its er different YB ..but looking at how it looks now im sure its going to raise a few eyebrows . Im going to look into how much a full respray will cost in a nice glossy black , saying this cos that was the colour of the original GPZ750 i once owned and this has perfect panels for the paint . Whilst checking the fuses in the fuse box it even had the spare fuse and fuse holder thingy still attatched in its holder amazing . So you never got them 2 bikes off ebay then yb I see they had about 8 bids on and went for just over £1000 Ill take some pics today while im out , then you can see me handy work Bloody hell im worried sick about the bike MOT :hair: 3 hrs to go before i ride the gpz to the shop, remember this is the first test run so tenderhooks an all . She runs a treat on tickover so hope she goes ok on the 6 mine ride to the MOT place Pics posted in the other section

Na we bought the ZX7R P1 in the end. Have to say that's coming up well too I'll have a ganders at the pics in a min What age is the bike? Is this similar to the engine they put in the GPX750 which was then used for the ZXR750 albeit with different designed heads and bucket valves instead of rockers arms???

Its a 1984 Dont know about being the same as the GPX engine Well i planned taking the GPZ out or a day to give it a good run, after starting her up on the first push of the button i noticed petrol pouring out the back of the tap onto the warmed up engine So off with the tank and tap and quickly mastic it up and away i go off into the rain . A few miles down the road and cough splutter the bikes dies like its outa petrol and im in the countryside miles from home Noticed the petrol filters empty so must be a blockage some where , then these 2 blokes on mad max look alike bikes pull up " polish and can hardly speak a word of english " Takes a look at me bike wips the tank off and clears the blockage and im back on my way again What a day but thanks to the 2 helpfull bikers the Z got me back home again
