Well lets get the video out of the way first
;D
I will scan in the charts soon, but facts and figures are this.
New the ZRX400 has 53bhp @ 11,500 rpm, around 25 ft lbs max torque at 9,500rpm - stop laughing
My 400 has 46000kms on the clock and is nearly 13 years old. On the run I had the Kerker headers with the Beowulf can attached, baffle removed. It also had a DNA air filter.
6th gear roll on my 400 had 48.7 at the crank, 46.5 in the gearbox and 44.6 at the r/wheel.
My bike seems to run better when it is warmer / more humid etc, so later on, through the gears, 4,5,6 it actually put out 50.4bhp at the crank. Exact to stats, max power was 10,500rpm and max torque was at 9,500rpm, well 9,483rpm to be exact
I have a distinct flat spot or dip at between 8-9000rpm, which is quite important on the 400. The guy at the dyno recommended a slightly larger main jet. He was very knowledgable and I enjoyed listening to what he had to say. He said a larger main jet would fill in the gap just fine. No need for Dyno jet needles, just use the CVK jets and get that right. That would then mean my Kerker Racing system would work better, so watch out guys :explode:
I was so happy with the performance of my bike, and it was a fantastic day out with the guys from next door. One of the charts compares the performance of Dads 1200 against my 400. It makes for interesting reading.
At 60mph in top, about 3,500rpm for Dad, his bike is emitting the same amount of power my 400 makes at 11,500rpm in top. 50bhp. No wonder whatever gear I'm in, Dad can just turn the screw in any gear, and pull away
For your info, Dads stcok 1200, apart from Bewoulf r/c put out
127bhp engine
122bhp gearbox
117bhp r/wheel
