I thought it was about time to get the fork legs painted on Jr's Frazer as its sat in my garage, And about time too they needed doing since we bought it and they where letting the look of the bike down, The next thing is to paint the crash bars and get the carbs balanced. Before After

Yeah nice job Kev Also those headers are in good nic Got to say the lacquer on my 400 fork legs is a bit pitted, no matter how much polishing they dont come up brilliantly, passable but not super. Black could be an option, but then again I like polished silver colour fork legs Glad the fazers getting some nice treatment whilst its in re-hab for overdosing on too much speed

That's a good job well done and I know how satisfying it is to stand back and admire your handiwork when it's finished. My black fork legs were beginning to look more like those in the top pic before I did mine last time so I know how a job like that can transfor the look of a bike. rexjnr will be pleased to know that his bike will go even faster now as the smoother surface of the repaired forks will offer less wind resistance. :burnout:

It's always a shame to see a good bike left to get in such a condition. Good job Kev

The pics don't do the fork legs justice they look a lot better in true life,i like polished or silver myself Yb but as Jr is never off the bike long enough to clean the thing i had to do a bit of forward planning

I would. make sure the paint is really hard before you start and then use 1200 grade wet and dry. Check with kevrex, as he does something with soap

You shouldnt need to flat the paint of before putting the laquer on,i never have anyway, you dont have to wait to laquer but once you have laquered leave it for a few days to realy harden off and then to get bits out ( if there are any ) and to give a realy smooth finish and shine use 1200 wet & dry,use wet with some soap the soap stops the paper clogging and gives a better result, just go softly untill the paint work looks cloudy, then use rubbing compound to get the shine out and to finish some polish and your done
