Jap import bikes are all restricted to 112mph (Jap law) and here is the device that de-restricts them, rather than having to manually cut the wire, like mine has. Never seen the on :ebay: before. I was going to put them in ebay items (for sale) but I thought it might get lost in there, anyway this section is a bit bare compared to the 11/12 area Feel free to move though ebay ZRX400 II modelsebay pre '95 ZRX400 I model

So what you're saying is that all you did was cut a wire to de-restrict yours?
The one on ebay is switchable.
:hmm: £24.99 for a switch that let's face it ain't never gonna get used but once seems a bit pricey somehow.

Just out of interest, which wire did you cut?

Gonna plead my here. Not entirely sure, my 400 already had the mod done, I seem to think it might be a pink wire around the ignition unit somewhere, its not a rev restrictor as Im aware, . Some of Jams old threads nextdoor has all the info somewhere, just finding it

It's speedo related so just fitting a KPH/MPH converter will do it as with the converter fitted the restrictor is still there but the speedo will never get that far round for the restrictor to cut in if that makes sense.

With a converter fitted the restrictor will kick in at just over 180mph. So my guess is that you may have no need to bypass it.
Who decided on 112 mph anyway? Seems a strangely random figure?

this one I do know 112mph is 180kmh, 180kmh being the restricted speed of all motor vehicles in Japan.
