EXACTLY!!! It's amazing how Stoner makes up time in the straights! I'm sorry, but I can't stand him! He's a wiener, even if he is fast on the fastest bike!

I think this race certainly showed the difference in class between Sooner & Rossi. Stoner was rattled. Rossi made ONE mistake the entire race(the corkscrew),while Stoner made loads. Rossi was calm, smooth & composed the entire race. Stoner was ragged in despairation to keep up. . . in fact, the only place Stoner could overtake was on the "straight" where he could use the power of the Duke-but Rossi always had that one covered by making him ride around the outside. Theres more to winning a race than just going flat out all the time. . . & in this one,the old master showed the young pup just how its done. . . Rossi rocks. . . Oh yeah...in parc-ferme they interviewed Stoner, who whinged & whined about Rossi's "tough" moves. Ha...the lad should learn that its called RACING. . . When Rossi comes 2nd,he has nothing but praise & admiration for the guy thats beaten him. . . but not Stoner. . . he just gets a cob on....and whinges. . . no wonder only Badger likes him . . .

Eh a like Stoner as well, he's the only gut out there who can ride the snarlin beast. Ask Malandri an Caparoosi about it. But he was beaten by the master, Rossi is nae mug and doesn't roll over easy. And am sure Rossi won't be able tae sleep thinkin about wot Stoner said. :zzzz: Good race at last tho, and yove got to hand it to Casey, gettin up an still finishin second, he can't be that bad.

To be honest tho, Stoner was riding on the very edge all the time, and did make 1 or 2 mistakes... and come on now he rarely does. If the Duke (and it has) got more top speed, why arnt the other Dukes up in the top 10 even... No it a fact the Stoner has to be the best rider on a Duke... But, Rossi looked under control every lap, never gave a inch under pressure..Stoner was over his back wheel , corner or straight lap after lap, and they were swapping passes for 2 or 3 laps (great racing, and thats what i like to see) Casey made a few mistakes ..he was trying bloody hard, and in the end missed his braking point and ended up in the kitty litter, fell off, but was still good enough to finish 2nd. I just want to see close racing like that..had me on the edge of my chair lap after lap.... I had nowt to do Sat afternoon, so i watched the German F1.....god was i bored. Gimme MotoGP any day

Can we get a collection going to get some toys for Casey's pram He rode amazingly well, kept up with the GOAT, fell off, didn't damage anything, kept bike running and still got bloody 2nd For FU**S sake be happy Casey!!!!! All the Dukes are fast, Marco gets top speed in many races, it's only Casey who gets round the bendy bits fast.

To be honest tho, Stoner was riding on the very edge all the time, and did make 1 or 2 mistakes... and come on now he rarely does. But, Rossi looked under control every lap, never gave a inch under pressure... Prehaps Stoner has now sampled what its like to HAVE to ride the bike at OVER 100% like Rossi has to do EVERY race. When he was outclassed,he made mistakes & acted like a stroppy kid at the end. Oh yes,Stoners good...make that very good, but only when the pressure isnt on 100% ALL of the time. Rossi handled the kid like the master he is & the stroppy kid sulked cuz he didnt win. . . thats racing Casey . . . BTW:Id still like to see what would happen if they swapped bikes. I bet Casey couldnt win on a Yamaha . . .

to both riders. What a good show, glad the "race"lasted as long as it did, they shoulda taken each other off within the 1st couple laps really. Was funny watching dad and i both twitching like crazy, ooooooooos and aagggggghhh, all through the race, whilst Mum and kate (lil sister) didnt comment Rossi is the best rider no doubting that, and Casey has potentially the best bike, as was proved last year - if you can ride it! Nice to see Eddie Lawson on the podium

Methinks that wid be a bad bet for you Snoops. The Duke is no that much faster than the rest o the bikes now. If the Yam wis that slow Rossi would never have got that far in front. Good race tho untill Stoner fell off. Would liked to have seen it go to the wire.

What drove me nuts was that the commentators didn't even discuss the power difference in the two bikes, and John Hopkins (I think) kept going on about how Stoner would likely take him in the straight or uphill turn. My understanding of motorcycle racing is childlike compared to most here, but I can understand that passing in the straights, especially when they're uphill, is not a function of skill as much as it is equipment.
The counter attacks by Rossi after these straight line passes left me welded to my couch with piss sodden underwear! Especially the OUTSIDE one!!!
For Stoner fans, I think the guy is a great rider, and I agree that only he seems to be able to handle the Ducati. He's not the best though, and I get angry watching him talk and act as though he is.
It seems as though Rossi is schooling him in PR as well, with his comments about needing 30 seconds, or a gun!
I think Rossi should ride for Ducati as well; the same as Senna and Prost in F1 in the 80's. It would be the most entertaining thing to watch, and would be a great way for Rossi to wrap up his career.
In my humble, though largely uninformed, opinion.

Methinks that wid be a bad bet for you Snoops. . . Id risk it anyday. . . lets face it,he was fuggin useless on a Honda, which arguably was THE best bike...and possibly still is this year. Its just that he's "gelled" with the Ducati. Everyone said Rossi was only winning everything because he had the best bike when he was at Honda,so he switched to about the 4th best bike & for a manufacturer that hadn't won a race in years(Yamaha). . .and look what happened. . . People say Stoner is only winning races because of his bike. Why doesn't HE prove all the doubters wrong for next season & switch to Suzuki,or Kawasaki. . . the also-rans & see if he can go straight to another title on a bike like that. . . i very much doubt it . . . Stoner's like Fogarty-can(could) only win on one bike. Fogarty tried doing a Rossi one year & was crap on an RC45,so he cried back to the huge advantage he had at Ducati & started winning again. . . Rossi's more like Hailwood-any bike, any class, any track...he'll take it on. . . & if it doesnt work out,he'll still have a grin on his face, simply because he enjoys his sport, where as for others, the fun's gone out of it.Its too intense. Rossi watches ALL the races, every race weekend, while all the other MotoGP "stars" are with their physios & shrinks or psyching themselves up in their motorhomes,Rossi's out there trackside watching the races. . . a true superstar & one that certain others in the paddock could learn some lessons from . . .
