Found this on a GPZ forum
"Tire pressure will probably make the biggest difference in harshness with the GPZ. The book says 36 front 41 rear, but I think that's too high and there's been agreement from the list. I run at 34 front and 38 rear, others run lower--I think 31/36 was the lowest reported."

Can't remember what the owners handbook said but what ever it was I probably used that. 36front /41rear Knowing what we know about tyres now, I'd be inclined to follow the manufacturers recomendations which I'd guess for those tyres is 36f/42r Other handling tweaks thereafter are best done via the suspension.

Ive tried 36/42 & they seem "flat". Is there any adjustment on the forks, cuz i cant find any. The previous owner has fitted Hyperpro progressive fork springs & theyre far too hard & the front sits too high & doesnt absorb the bumps well. Anyone help me with a pair of standard fork springs Maybe its the chopper like stance thats making the handling funny, not the tyre pressures

36/42 worked OK for me Snoops. A bike of that size is never going to be the sharpest handling tool in the box anyway, I always found it a bit slow and heavy in the handling stakes but that could well be the riding position and narrower bars than the Rex as much as anything. The GPz 1100e was my first proper big bike anyway so I have very little else to compare it to. You're right, there is no adjustment on the front end short of playing with fork oil levels and viscosity that is. For fork springs try the usual breakers or if you want new, Cradley Kawasaki or Z PowerI'd guess that if you haven't got the static and rider sag settings right the handling is going to be adversly affected.

Theres NO static sag & the forks only sink about half an inch when im sat on the bike. They definately need softening. The damping feels ok,just the springing is too stiff. Its a shame, cuz thats about the only fault with the bike (apart from the indicators flash too fast. . . Maybe i should just break it. Its got so many new & nice parts on . . . & the 6 speed engine would just bolt straight into a REX . . .

A nice bike like that and you wanna break it. just send it this way, I'll look after it for you. and why would you want a six speed engine and gearbox for a Rex you haven't got anyway? Original springs should be easily sourced and replaced so getting the handling sorted is no big deal.
