Just ordered a set of Conti Road Attacks. Should be in this week. Best price round here was $476.00 a pair. If I bring in the wheels they'll mount an balance for $25/per wheel. Maybe by next week the old worn skins will be gone! alright I know he's a mate and all, but ride in, ride out at my mates Russ's tyres road attacks are 160 pounds a set.

well, I may not be as abusive to tyres as snoop's (but there again nor is Rossi ), but I tend to hold my own in most situations, and current Road Attacks on the majestic grey have been around for 6132 miles (give or take a tenth) but will need changing shortly, BBM had a look at them at Box Hill and commented that they were well sha**ed.

alright I know he's a mate and all, but ride in, ride out at my mates Russ's tyres road attacks are 160 pounds a set. :hmm: But then there's the crating up the REX, delivery to the airfreight folks and the passenger ticket to get myself and the REX over there. Then of course there's all the reverse getting back over here. May be a bit less expensive from your mate Russ, but I think I'll have to pass on account of the travel costs ;D On the matter of abuse and longevity. I gave the new Contis a good 240 km of abuse on the weekend - seem to be holding up so far. Of course the first 100 km was at a sedate pace so I didn't put myself on my ear on brand new rubber.

The literature for the Road Attacks mentions something about a higher silica content in the centre portion of the tread, something designed to address the propensity for "straight highway drone" miles to flatten the centre of the tire. Hoping that's true because a lot of the commuting I put on the REX is over straight roads. The stockers squared off pretty badly under those circumstances
